Best Kerala snack gift boxes to send across India

What a good Kerala gift box contains

A well-built hamper is a curated edit, not a kitchen-sink dump. The composition that consistently works is one fresh savoury, one sweet bake, one drink, one note — four elements that arrive together and survive shipping cleanly.

  • One fresh savoury. Kozhi Ada is the strongest pick — recognisable, frozen-ships well, reheats in 10 minutes. Mutta Surka (egg parcel) is a close second.
  • One sweet bake. Maamoul is ideal — keeps 30+ days at room temperature, photographs beautifully, and pairs equally with Kerala Christmas, Ramadan, Eid and Onam. Unnakaya works too but ships frozen.
  • One drink. A small tin of Kerala chaya (Sulaimani or strong CTC for milk tea) ties the hamper to the chaya-kadi serving tradition. It’s also the cheapest premium upgrade for the unit economics.
  • One handwritten note. Genuinely handwritten, not printed. Adds about 30 seconds per box on our side and is the single highest-rated detail in our feedback.

Avoid the kitchen-sink hamper — 12 small items, each in a tiny pouch, that overwhelms the recipient and underwhelms each individual snack. Premium gifting is about restraint.

What a great hamper avoids

  • No “Indian sweets assortment” filler that has nothing to do with Kerala. Every item should belong to the regional story.
  • No items that can’t survive 3–7 day transit at the destination’s temperature. If you ship to a tier-2 city in May, anything that melts is a recall waiting to happen.
  • No packaging that can’t be reused. Kerala gifting has a strong tradition of the box itself being a gift — sturdy, beautifully printed, lid-and-base construction worth keeping.

Frequently asked

  • What goes into a Kerala snack gift box?

Typically a mix of Malabar savouries (Kozhi Ada, Mutta Surka), sweet bakes (Maamoul, Unnakaya) and a tin of strong Kerala tea. Festival hampers (Onam, Ramadan) add seasonal items.
  • Can you ship gift boxes anywhere in India?

Yes. We ship pan-India from Calicut. Transit times are confirmed at checkout by pincode.
  • Do you do corporate gifting?

Yes — we welcome corporate gifting and bulk orders. Write to us via the Contact page with your dates, box count and any custom branding needs.
  • Can I send a box directly to my family in another city?

Of course — add their address at checkout and we'll include a handwritten gift note free of charge.
  • When should I order for Ramadan or Onam?

Order a few weeks before the festival to give the kitchen and courier comfortable lead time. Our seasonal hampers open ahead of each festival — watch this page or the homepage for the open dates.
